Two brothers, 17 and 21 years old, were killed in a shooting Thursday evening at an Arlington apartment complex, police said.

No arrests have been made in the double homicide. Detectives are working to identify the shooter, who left the scene after the gunfire, Arlington police said in a news release Friday.

Officers responded to the apartment complex, in the 400 block of West Park Row Drive, about 5:10 p.m. on May 29. They found the victims outside one of the apartment buildings.

The two young men were taken to a hospital, where they were later pronounced dead. They were identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as 21-year-old Bryan Cuevas and 17-year-old Jason Cuevas.

The Cuevas brothers did not live at the apartment complex where they were shot, police said. Investigators are working to determine why they were there.

Police said evidence found at the crime scene suggests that the homicides might be related to “high-risk, illicit activity.” Police did not specify what illegal activity might have been involved prior to the shooting.

Police asked anyone with information about the case to call Detective Robinson at (817) 459-5935. Tipsters can also remain anonymous by calling Crime Stoppers of Tarrant County at (817) 469-8477.
