A North Texas firefighter died in a off-duty crash when his pickup truck hit a utility pole in Tarrant County on Wednesday morning, Dec. 4.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified him as 26-year-old Dalton Ingram.

Ingram served as a full-time firefighter for the Eagle Mountain Fire Department.

“We’re going to miss your dad jokes and fun-loving spirit that always filled the room. Rest easy, we’ll take it from here,” the Eagle Mountain Fire Department said in a social media post.

Tarrant County deputies responded to the crash about 1:30 a.m in the 8700 block of Boat Club Road. When they arrived, they found a pickup truck had crashed into a utility pole. Firefighters and paramedics removed Ingram, who was the only person in the truck.

Ingram died at the scene a few moments later, a Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson said.

Ingram previously served with the Everman Fire Department.

“His relentless positivity and passion for the fire service will be missed and felt by countless friends, family, brothers and sisters,” the Everman Fire Department said in a social media post.

The Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office traffic investigations unit will determine what led to the crash, a spokesperson said.
