Morning and afternoon crashes close Texas 114 near Westlake and Southlake, officials say
One person was trapped in a vehicle after a two-car crash on Texas 114 in Westlake on Thursday morning, Oct. 24, authorities said. A second crash was reported in the same area on Thursday afternoon.
The first accident was reported about 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of State Highway 114 and Solana Boulevard, Westlake city officials said in a social media post.
All lanes of westbound 114 were closed and eastbound 114 had one lane closed because of debris following the crash. The highway lanes were closed for a few hours while police investigated the accident. First responders from Keller and Southlake were assisting at the crash scene.
The lanes had reopened by 11 a.m.
But a second crash involving two semi trucks was reported on the same highway about noon, authorities said. The second crash was reported on eastbound Texas 114 between Dove and White Chapel, according to Southlake police. One tractor-trailer was leaking fuel, and Southlake firefighters were responding.
The on ramp from Dove and the far right eastbound lane on 114 were closed because of the afternoon crash.
Information about any injuries in the accidents was not immediately available.
Drivers were asked to avoid the area.
