What are the odds of becoming a millionaire in Fort Worth? Pretty good, bookmakers say

What’s the chance Fort Worthians can strike it rich? Pretty good actually. In fact, if you live here there is a a 0.002% chance you will become a millionaire, bookmakers say.

Sportsbook website Casino.org has put together a list of the best cities in the country for becoming a millionaire, and Fort Worth ranks as the fifth best in the nation.

The study looked at a variety of factors including cost of living, access to investment funds, average income, education rates, gross domestic product per capita and current concentration of millionaires.

Although Cowtown has low investment capital, the cost of living to earnings ratio ranked higher than most cities, which indicates that the city has high rates of upwards mobility for residents.

Other Texas cities that made the study’s list include Austin (No. 6), Dallas (No. 7), Houston (No. 12), San Antonio (No. 21) and El Paso (No. 25).

Fort Worth continues to be among the the fastest growing cities in the country. Cowtown is home 978,468 residents which is good for 12th on the U.S. Census Bureau’s list of most populous cities in the country. Fort Worth experienced the second largest population boom in the country, absorbing 21,365 new residents from July 1, 2022 to July 1, 2023.
