Actor Jon Hamm was spotted at a popular Fort Worth barbecue restaurant while in town filming a new Taylor Sheridan show.

Hamm stopped by Goldee’s Barbecue on Sunday, posing for a photo with restaurant staff during a break from filming his latest television series — “Landman.”

The actor, primarily known for “Mad Men,” joined the “Landman” cast last month as production began. Hamm joins a previously announced cast that includes Billy Bob Thornton, Demi Moore and Ali Larter.

Hamm is set to portray Monty Miller, a titan of the Texas oil industry who has a long personal and professional relationship with Tommy Norris (Thornton).

“Landman” is co-created and executive produced by Sheridan and Christian Wallace, which is based on Texas Monthly’s podcast “Boomtown” that Wallace wrote and hosted. The series will debut on Paramount+.

The show’s synopsis reads, “Landman is set in the proverbial boomtowns of West Texas and is a modern day tale of fortune seeking in the world of oil rigs. The series is an upstairs/downstairs story of roughnecks and wildcat billionaires fueling a boom so big, it’s reshaping our climate, our economy and our geopolitics.”

Production on “Landman” began last month and is expected to film in and around North Texas for the next few months.

“Landman” is the latest series for Hamm, who previously starred in the fifth season of “Fargo” and third season of “The Morning Show.”

Goldee’s has been well recognized since opening its doors in 2020, including being named the No. 1 barbecue restaurant in the state from Texas Monthly in 2021.

The barbecue joint is among the most popular in Fort Worth and serves all the smoked meat favorites, from brisket and beef ribs, to turkey and sausage. Goldee’s is open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday-Sunday.

A new venture from Goldee’s co-owners Jalen Heard, Lane Milne and Jonny White, called Ribbee’s will open in March. The rib-centric restaurant will serve barbecue ribs four ways: original, spicy, sweet and hot-honey
