Texas’ No. 1 BBQ restaurant set to open new takeout ribs-and-fries stand in Fort Worth
Ribbee’s, the new takeout ribs-and-fries stand from the owners of No. 1 -rated Goldee’s, will open within days, co-owner Jonny White said Friday.
Ribbee’s, 923 E. Seminary Drive near Interstate 35W in Fort Worth, is a new venture by three owners of Goldee’s, Jalen Heard, Lane Milne and White.
The menu will feature baby-back ribs four ways: original, spicy, sweet and hot-honey ($19.99/plate), plus beef “ribbees” ($22.99).
The simple menu also includes two side dishes — french fries and cole slaw. For dessert, there’s a Big Red float or a root beer float.
Goldee’s, 4645 Dick Price Road south of Kennedale, is a craft barbecue restaurant known for ribs. It was rated No. 1 in the last Texas rankings by critics from Texas Monthly magazine.
Ribbee’s baby-back ribs will be shorter and more meaty.
“We thought it would be fun to serve ribs in different flavors,” White said last year.
Ribbee’s will open for lunch and dinner Thursdays through Sundays, White said.
The restaurant is in a 50-year-old former Sonic Drive-In.
The opening will give Texas barbecue travelers yet another stop in south Tarrant County. Goldee’s is open only at lunch Fridays through Sundays.
