Homeowner renovating White Settlement house finds hand grenade inside kitchen drawer
The new owner of a house under renovation in the 9200 block of Lanham Street in White Settlement found a hand grenade inside a kitchen drawer, police said Sunday.
The device was described as an older, military-style grenade. It did not contain explosive material, the Fort Worth Fire Department Arson/Bomb Squad determined.
White Settlement police have no leads on how the grenade got into the house, which had been vacant for a few years.
Police closed the immediate area while Fort Worth firefighters assessed the grenade.
