Woman killed in single-vehicle crash in North Texas Wednesday night during heavy rain
A woman died after a single-vehicle crash late Wednesday night in Grapevine and investigators are trying to determine what happened, according to a news release from police.
The woman, who has not been publicly identified, was in a crash that may have been weather-related around 11:45 p.m. in the 3900 block of Texas 360 during heavy rainfall, according to police. A witness told police they saw the wreckage of the crash after the car hit the guardrail and landed in the median.
Officers found the woman, who was driving the car, unresponsive and not breathing, according to the news release. They took her out of the car and performed CPR until paramedics arrived and took her to the hospital, where she died.
The driver has been identified as a 27-year-old woman from Oklahoma City, but her name will not be released until the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office notifies next-of-kin.
The crash closed the northbound lanes of the highway for hours. The crash, CPR and investigation all occurred with ongoing heavy rainfall, and investigators believe weather contributed to the crash.
