A new Texas Roadhouse is in the works for northern Tarrant County.

The popular steakhouse has plans for a restaurant in the southwest corner of Avondale-Haslet Road and U.S. Route 287, according to a filing with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

Along with the licensing filing, What Now Dallas confirmed the Texas Roadhouse news with a company representative last week.

Construction on the $2 million facility is expected to begin in March 2024 and finish in September, according to the filing The proposed restaurant would be located near Avondale and Haslet, which is about a 25 minute drive north of downtownFort Worth.

Texas Roadhouse has over a dozen restaurants in North Texas, with another expected to open later this year in Lake Worth. The steakhouse chain is known for its variety of steak options and house-baked rolls served with cinnamon honey butter.

Kentucky-based Texas Roadhouse opened its first restaurant in Indiana in 1993. In the three decades since the first steak was grilled, the company has exploded with restaurants all over the U.S.
