A Fort Worth eatery will hand out 210 free hot dogs on Independence Day to celebrate 21 years of serving sweet frozen treats.

This is the third year in a row that Curly’s Frozen Custard will hand out free franks on July 4. The restaurant previously held hot dog eating contests on the Fourth of July, but switched to free giveaways in 2020. This year’s free giveaway also marks the eatery’s two decades in business.

“We have received so much positive feedback throughout the past three years that customers appreciated a free hot dog on our nation’s birthday,” said Bourke Harvey, Curly’s founder and managing partner. “These are the same quarter-pound Nathan’s Famous hot dogs that Curly’s has become famous for, so this is a Texas-sized treat.”

All hot dog fans need to do is simply go to the drive-through or walk-up window and pick up their free frank starting at 11 a.m. on July 4 at 4017 Camp Bowie Blvd. No purchase is required and there’s a one hot dog limit per person.

While at the counter or drive-through window, Harvey recommends ordering one of Curly’s signature frozen custard.

“Parker County Peach is a signature flavor for us,” Harvey said. “We have become known for Fort Worth’s favorite frozen treats numerous times, and our Parker County Peach flavor has helped create that reputation, along with our delicious concretes, and ice cream sandwiches.”
