2 residents, 4 firefighters attacked by swarms of bees in North Texas home infestation
Firefighters responded to a home in Grandview on Thursday after two people were attacked in a home infested by hives of bees.
“Arriving crews were met with (what appeared to be millions of) very aggressive bees,” said the Grandview Volunteer Fire Department in a Facebook post.
Grandview is about 50 minutes south of Fort Worth in Johnson County.
Two people were being attacked by bees and two others were trapped in the house, and were unable to escape due to more bee swarms.
Four firefighters suffered multiple bee stings, but had no allergic reactions.
A bee keeper made the scene and brought the bees under control with foam, allowing everyone to escape.
American Medical Response and Air Evac Lifetime each transported one patient for treatment.
