A driver was killed early Sunday after losing control of a vehicle and crashing into a tree near an Arlington street, Arlington police said.

The name of the driver had not been released by authorities as of Monday.

Police responded to the single-vehicle wreck at about 3:50 a.m. Sunday in the 1000 block of NE Green Oaks Boulevard.

A preliminary investigation determined that a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze was traveling westbound on NE Green Oaks and veered off the north side of the roadway colliding with a tree.

The driver, who had not been wearing a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.

Investigators are still working to determine the cause of the crash.
