A woman was in serious condition early Wednesday after being shot during an argument on La Salle Street in east Fort Worth, authorities said.

No other injuries were reported in the shooting.

Fort Worth police said her boyfriend, who is a suspect in the shooting, was arrested as he tried to flee the scene.

Policexresponded to the shooting call just before 1 a.m. Wednesday in the 2600 block of La Salle St.

Officers found a woman inside the residence who had suffered a single gunshot wound to the back. The victim told Fort Worth police that she had been involved in an argument with her boyfriend when he pulled a gun and fired the weapon, shooting her one time.

Officers detained the suspect when he attempted to flee the scene in a vehicle, police said.

The woman was transported to a local hospital.

The suspect was in custody, and the gun violence unit were called to the scene.

Jail records identified the suspect as 35-year-old Dadrian Thomas, who faces a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
