A 32-year-old woman died after being hit by a car on a highway in Southlake on Friday night, according to a press release from Southlake police.

A 32-year-old woman died after being hit by a car on a highway in Southlake on Friday night, according to a press release from Southlake police.

The woman was hit by a gray Kia passenger car at about 10:20 p.m. Friday in the 400 block of Highway 114, police said. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as Patricia Cave of Grapevine. Cave had major injuries and was unresponsive when police and fire crews were dispatched to the area, police said.

The woman was taken to Baylor Scott and White Hospital in Grapevine, but she was pronounced dead at 10:36 p.m., police said.

The highway was closed for several hours as officers investigated the crash. No other injuries were reported, and no criminal charges were pending.
