21-year-old killed in major car crash in northwest Tarrant County, officials say

A 21-year-old is dead following an accident Friday near State Highway 199 in northwest Tarrant County.

At about 11:30 p.m., Tarrant County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the scene of a major crash in the 6400 block of Nine Mile Bridge Rd. When they arrived on the scene, deputies found a black and silver Dodge Charger flipped over onto its roof, according to a press release

The driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner identified the victim as 21-year-old Matthew Tanner Powell.

Deputies did not provide details of the cause of the crash.
