18-year-old killed in single-vehicle crash in Arlington; car was engulfed in flames

An 18-year-old is dead following an accident Friday along Interstate 20 in Arlington.

At about 11:30 p.m., Arlington police responded to a single-vehicle accident call the 2400 block of East I-20 at the eastbound exit ramp toward State Highway 360 south.

According to police, a 2019 Land Rover left the roadway due to an unknown reason and struck a concrete support pillar. The crash caused the vehicle to roll over and become fully engulfed in flames.

The driver of the Land Rover, an 18-year-old female, was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. No one else was in the vehicle.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased once next of kin has been notified.
