North Texas law enforcement officers say goodbye to a deputy who died on call

Members of the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office and family said their final goodbyes to Tarrant County Sheriff’s Deputy Billy W. Scheets, 55, on Thursday. While taking a call over the weekend Scheets suffered a medical emergency and later died at a hospital. Scheets had been with the Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office since 2003.

“My memories are of a compassionate, humble man who quietly went about his business doing the very best job that he could,” said Tarrant County Sheriff Bill Waybourn.
