Tarrant County sheriff’s deputy dies after suffering medical problem while on a call

A Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office deputy died on Sunday when he suffered a medical problem while he was on a call, his office said.

The deputy was taken about 5 p.m. to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Azle and died there, the sheriff’s office said.

The office did not Sunday night release the deputy’s name.

A sheriff’s office spokesperson did not immediately say whether the deputy was in a vehicle, outdoors, in a residence or at some other location when he suffered the medical problem or describe the nature of the call.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will determine the cause of death.
