Renovation work may have started fire at Aledo Middle School band hall, officials say
A fire damaged a band hall at Aledo Middle School on Monday evening, but firefighters managed to extinguish the blaze quickly, fire officials said.
No injuries were reported.
The blaze, which may have started from renovation work, damaged a roof and wall space in the band hall, according to fire officials. A working fire was reported at the school, 416 FM 1187, when local firefighters arrived on the scene.
Fire officials had been alerted to the blaze from an automatic fire alarm at the middle school campus.
Firefighters arrived at the school shortly after 7 p.m. Monday.
The fire was quickly controlled and contained to the area of where it had started, authorities stated on the Facebook page of Parker County Emergency Services District 1.
Firefighters remained on the scene performing ventilation and overhaul work.
Aledo school officials could not be reached Tuesday for comment on the fire or damage to the building.
Willow Park, Weatherford, and Cresson Fire Departments also responded to the blaze.
