Gov. Greg Abbott last week directed state authorities to conduct enhanced inspections of vehicles traveling into Texas, in response to the Biden administration ending restrictions put in place during the pandemic.

Since then, truck blockades and backups may cause shortages and higher prices on imported goods, including produce and other grocery items, at a time when inflation is high.
