Medical examiner identifies man killed in crash with 18-wheeler on I-35 near Denton

A 42-year-old man died after a crash involving an 18-wheeler near Denton on Friday morning.

Denton police said the accident occurred around 1:45 a.m. near mile marker 467 on eastbound Interstate 35E, near North Texas Boulevard.

When officers arrived, they “located a significantly damaged Ford F-150, which had struck the back of an 18-wheeler stopped in traffic,” the police department said in a news release.

The pickup truck’s driver, identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office as 42-year-old Jacob Gray, of Cedar Park, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 18-wheeler’s driver was not injured in the wreck.

An investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
