All five primary runways at DFW Airport are operational after ice had forced the airport to close all but two runways on Thursday, according to a tweet from the airport.

“We’re looking forward to a much smoother travel experience this weekend,” the airport tweeted around 5:40 p.m. Friday.

DFW Airport had more cancellations Thursday than any other airport in the nation with more than 2,000 incoming and departing flights canceled, according to FlightAware.

Between 6 p.m. Thursday and 6 p.m. Friday, the airport still had the most cancellations but was showing improvement with just over 1,000 flights canceled.
