Oncor reduced the number power outages from affecting around 12,000 customers to approximately 7,300 by 5:30 p.m. Friday, according to data from the company’s map of outages.

Of those, 146 outages reported were in Tarrant County.

More than half of those outages were in Hunt County, which had just under 4,000 customers affected. Collin County had the second most with almost 1,500, followed by Dallas County at 713.

Ice and freezing on unpaved roads in rural parts of Hunt and Collin Counties were creating difficulties for Oncor crews trying to get to areas that needed restoration work, according to a news release from the energy supplier.

“Personnel will continue to work around the clock to get power restored,” the company said in a release. “We recognize the frustrations and hardships customers have faced during this severe winter weather event, and greatly appreciate their continued patience and understanding.”
