Tarrant County medical examiner identifies pedestrian killed in Mansfield car accident

A pedestrian who was fatally struck by a car in Mansfield on Tuesday morning was identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Aaron Pickrell, 42, of Kennedale was identified as the man who died in the accident.

The accident occurred in the 1800 block of US 287 southbound around 5 a.m., Mansfield police said. The driver involved in the accident, called 911 believing he hit a deer, and remained at the scene.

Investigators later concluded Pickrell was hit while he was trying to cross the highway.

No charges have been filed.
