Bedford man killed in Haltom City motorcycle crash, police say

A Bedford man was killed in Haltom City on Tuesday afternoon when the motorcycle he was operating crashed into an SUV, authorities said.

Asa Paul Rape, 42, was identified as the victim by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.

Officers responded to the reported major accident around 4 p.m., police said in a news release. They located the man on the ground with severe injuries, police said, and pronounced him dead.

They determined a motorcycle had struck a silver SUV, though the department was unable to describe in the release what led to the crash.

The driver and passenger in the silver SUV were transported to John Peter Smith Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

There have been no arrests in connection with the accident, the department said. None are expected.

Investigators are trying to determine the cause of the crash, police said.
