Body of woman found in Lake Lavon in Collin County, Sheriff’s Office says
A woman’s body was found floating in Lake Lavon in Wylie on Wednesday afternoon, according to the Collin County Sheriff’s Office.
The woman, who wasn’t identified, was transported to the Collin County Medical Examiner’s Office, where an autopsy will be conducted. Authorities will release the identity of the woman pending notification of next of kin.
Police in Wylie contacted the Collin County Sheriff’s Office around 1:55 p.m. Wednesday to report they found a body in Lake Lavon, the Sheriff’s Office said. The body was in the Lavonia Park area of the lake.
Officers responded to the scene, where they recovered the body from the water, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Authorities have not said whether foul play is suspected in the woman’s death.
