Police: Suspects tried disguising themselves at Hulen Mall after shooting man in neck
Two men tried to disguise themselves at Hulen Mall after shooting a man in the neck just a few blocks away on Thursday morning, police said.
The victim later died at a hospital, police said.
Officers responded to the shooting call at 10:38 a.m. near South Hulen Street and South Drive West.
Investigators taped off an area surrounding a white car that had all four doors open. The car was parked in a lot behind the parking area of the Men’s Warehouse off Rock Quarry Road. More than two dozen police units responded to the shooting.
A man who manages the nearby Shine Express car wash said he and a coworker helped the man who was shot.
Fort Worth Police officer Buddy Calzada said that, after the shooting, the two suspects went into the Hulen Mall and attempted to disguise themselves by changing their clothes.
Both men were arrested near the food court area on the second floor, Calzada said. They have not been identified.
An employee of Great American Cookies said a Fort Worth police officer chased two men in their 20s or 30s up the escalator in front of her store, ordered them to the floor at gunpoint and waited for backup.
Police found a gun on one of the men, Calzada said.
