One arrested in fatal shooting in Arlington

Police detained a man suspected in the fatal shooting of another man in Southeast Arlington on Saturday night.

The incident occurred during an argument in the 3600 block of Covey Drive, northwest of the Interstate-20/Texas 360 interchange, police said.

Police were called to the scene about 7:30 p.m. by a female. The victim was taken to Medical Center of Arlington.

“The shooter knew the victim, but we don’t know what the relationship is,” said Arlington police spokesman Chris Cook, adding that police were still interviewing the man and had not charged him. “We know they had some kind of argument about something, and the shooter pulled out a gun and shot him.”
