Two apartment units were evacuated Wednesday morning in Arlington after reports of smoke coming from an electrical box, officials said.

Arlington firefighters responded about 10 a.m. in the 1900 block of Park Avenue South after a caller reported smoke coming from an electrical box on the first floor, the fire department said in a news release.

When firefighters arrived, they discovered fire inside an exterior wall and requested assistance from Oncor. The building was evacuated as a precaution while crews worked to access the area, officials said.

Firefighters exposed the wall, located the fire and extinguished it. No one was in the unit where the fire originated, officials said.

Oncor personnel responded to the scene and isolated power to the affected units, the release stated.

No firefighters or residents were injured, officials said. The American Red Cross will assist residents from two displaced units.

“The fire does not appear to be suspicious in nature and is currently under investigation,” according to the release.
