A 21-year-old man riding an electric bicycle died Sunday after he collided with a pickup truck in Arlington, police said.

The pickup was leaving a parking lot to turn west onto the 2400 block of Southwest Green Oaks Boulevard when it collided about 5 p.m. with the rider, Tariq Muhammad, who was thrown from the bike, Arlington police said.

Police do not believe the driver of the Dodge Ram was speeding or intoxicated. The driver, who was not injured, immediately stopped, remained at the scene and was cooperative, police said. He will not be charged with an offense.

Muhammad was pronounced dead at a hospital about 8 p.m.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office released the name of the rider, whose death a pathologist determined was caused by blunt force injuries.
