This North Texas roller coaster will break 6 world records when it opens
Six Flags Over Texas will debut a “one-of-a-kind” world record-breaking roller coaster next year.
The Arlington-based theme park unveiled it “adrenaline-pumping” Tormenta Rampaging Run roller coaster last week, ahead of its release sometime in 2026. The ride is inspired by Spain’s running of the bulls tradition.
Six Flags said the ride will be the tallest, fastest, longest and first-ever “giga” dive coaster in the world. A “giga” roller coaster is any ride between 300 and 399 feet in height, according to Coasterpedia.
“Six Flags Over Texas has always been a leader in creating unforgettable experiences, and with Tormenta Rampaging Run we are soaring to new heights,” said Mark Boyer, vice president and park manager for Six Flags Over Texas, in a press release. “This coaster is a true testament to our commitment to providing world-class thrills and innovation, and we can’t wait to bring this historic ride to life in 2026.”
In addition to the new coaster, Six Flags said a new Spanish village called Rancho de la Tormenta and new restaurant called Cocina Abuela will also be built in the park’s Spain area.
