Arlington’s Lincoln Square set for major renovation starting in 2026
With new facades, green spaces and upscale shopping in the pipeline, Arlington’s Lincoln Square shopping center is getting a makeover starting mid-2026.
Under the new name “Anthem,” and a new property owner, Trademark Property Company, the 1980s shopping center will be revamped into a happening mixed-use development.
The 470,000 square foot center sits just south of the Interstate 30 corridor on North Collins Street and houses Studio Movie Grill, Ross Dress For Less, Burlington and Michael’s.
At Arlington’s Tuesday evening City Council meeting, Trademark received another approval for a zoning change. Everyone on the dais was in favor of the development despite a representative from Boomer Jack’s Grill, which is in Lincoln Square, disputing the change.
Trademark CEO and Founder Terry Montesi said he believes the area will become “a modern gateway to North Arlington” that the city will be proud of.
The development will have a green space of at least 3,000 square feet for public art, music and events.
Montesi plans to renovate the red brick facades and add an office building. He said there will be new restaurants and upscale shopping coming to the area too.
“Every plan we’re considering fulfills the vision of transforming Lincoln Square into a vibrant, walkable community gathering place,” Montesi said.
Trademark, based out of Fort Worth, has developed a number of high-end retail centers around the country with tenants including Sixty Vines, Lululemon, Hopdoddy Burger Bar and Warby Parker.
In Texas, the company’s portfolio lists the Alliance Town Center and Westbend in southwest Fort Worth. The company also recently bought Longview Mall in partnership with Dillard’s.
Montesi said the renovation will take about 15 months.
Mayor Jim Ross said he’s excited to see Trademark “shoot some life into” the retail center.
“I think we’re going to see a really cool new redevelopment out there that’s going to bring a lot of interest into Lincoln Square and to Anthem,” Ross said.
