56-year-old woman dies in Arlington motorcycle crash when bike hits pole
Arlington police are investigating a fatal motorcycle accident Thursday morning in the 1700 block of West Abram Street.
Officers responded to calls about 7:20 a.m. that a motorcycle had hit a pole. When they arrived, they found a 56-year-old woman unconscious and lying on the ground. She was pronounced dead at the crash scene and will be identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
“A witness reported that the motorcyclist lost control of her bike before striking the pole and being ejected,” police said in a statement.
Police said crash investigators are working to determine what caused the rider to lose control.
Westbound Abram Street remains closed while the crash investigators continue to process evidence at the scene, police said about 9:45 a.m.
