3-year-old dies days after single-vehicle crash in Arlington, police say
A 3-year-old girl who was injured in a single-vehicle crash in Arlington earlier this month has died, officials said.
Officers responded to the 300 block of N. Center Street around 11:30 a.m. on Sept. 12. A 2006 Toyota Avalon had crashed into two metal bollards and a streetlight after the driver suffered a medical emergency behind the wheel, police said.
The 35-year-old driver and his two passengers — a 67-year-old woman and a 3-year-old girl — were taken to local hospitals for treatment. The child died Tuesday from her injuries, according to police.
The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office hasn’t yet publicly identify the 3-year-old.
Investigators are trying to determine if the little girl was properly restrained in a child safety seat when the crash occurred, police said.
