Pedestrian killed in crash on U.S. 287 in Fort Worth. Highway reopens to traffic.

A woman died after being hit by a pickup truck Monday morning while she was trying to cross U.S. 287 northbound on foot near Wilbarger Street in east Fort Worth, authorities said.

Police, firefighters and MedStar responded to the crash about 10:45 a.m., according to a call log.

U.S. 287 north was closed to traffic at Wilbarger Street following the accident, according to the Texas Department of Transportation. The highway reopened shortly after 1 p.m.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the pedestrian who was killed.
