The family of Liyah-Grace Holsey has set up a GoFundMe to help cover funeral expenses for the 10-year-old who was fatally struck by two vehicles on her way home from school Thursday.

Anitra Walker, the GoFundMe organizer, said in the description that the fifth-grader loved singing and taking pictures and was well liked at Mary Moore Elementary School. She was called Gracie by her family.

“She was so full of life and loved her family immensely,” Walker wrote.

Arlington police officers responded to the intersection of Park Springs Boulevard and Sublett Road shortly before 4 p.m. Thursday for an auto-pedestrian collision involving a child. Investigators believe Liyah-Grace was attempting to cross the street from the north side of Sublett Road when she was hit by two vehicles, according to police.

Anita Foster, a spokesperson for the Arlington Independent School District, said they are heartbroken.

“Liyah-Grace was a wonderful student who loved to sing so much that she joined the choir and never missed a practice,” district officials said in a news release. “She will be deeply missed and never forgotten.”

The fundraiser, which has been verified by the platform, says the funds will go directly to Liyah-Grace’s family for funeral expenses.
