Authorities are investigating two separate crashes in Arlington that killed two drivers and injured three other people, Arlington police said.

At around 12:30 p.m. Thursday, Arlington police responded to a three-vehicle crash in the 4400 block of West Division Street, according to a news release.

Investigators believe the driver of a 2012 Toyota Camry was traveling eastbound on West Division Street when, for unknown reasons, she crossed into the westbound lanes of traffic and hit a 2012 Toyota Tacoma, according to the release.

The force of the impact caused the Camry to collide with a Ford Edge that was also traveling westbound.

The driver of the Camry, a 44-year-old woman, was transported to an area hospital, where she was later pronounced dead, police said.

The drivers of the Tacoma and the Edge were also transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify the deceased woman once next of kin have been notified.

About 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, the Arlington Police Department responded to another three-vehicle crash in the 1500 block of West Sanford Street.

Investigators believe the driver of a 2007 Toyota Tundra was headed east on West Sanford Street when he lost control of the pickup truck, veered into the opposite lane of traffic and collided with a 2013 Honda Civic traveling westbound. The impact caused the Civic to spin and hit a Kia Spectra that was parked in a nearby driveway, police said.

The man who was driving the Civic was pronounced dead at the scene. He did not have any identification on him. The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will identify him.

The driver of the Tundra, a teenage boy, was not seriously injured and was treated and released by medics on scene.

During their investigation, officers conducted a series of field sobriety tests on the teenage driver and determined there were no signs of intoxication. Upon further investigation the teen was found to be in possession of marijuana and was arrested, police said. Speed and road conditions are believed to be factors in the crash.
