Grand Prairie man dies after Arlington motorcycle crash on I-20 frontage road, police say

A 57-year-old motorcyclist from Grand Prairie died after a crash Sunday afternoon.

The accident, around 3:50 p.m., occurred on the westbound I-20 frontage road, just west of Matlock Road in Arlington, police said.

“Investigators believe the man, who was riding a motorcycle, rear-ended a Ford Escape, causing the motorcycle to fall over and slide along the roadway,” Arlington police said in a news release. “The motorcycle driver was not wearing a helmet at the time. Investigators have not ruled out the possibility that alcohol may have also been a factor in the crash.”

The motorcyclist was later identified as Oscar Santoyo, of Grand Prairie, by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office. The medical examiner ruled his death an accident caused by blunt trauma by ejection from a motor vehicle. He died Sunday night at a local hospital.

The driver who was rear-ended remained at the scene and cooperated with officers, police said. He’s not facing any charges.
