Arlington police ask for help identifying person of interest in Thursday homicide

Arlington police are asking the public for help identifying a person of interest in a fatal shooting on Thursday morning.

Initial reports indicated a vehicle was seen leaving the 600 block of Carter Avenue, where the shooting occurred around 6:30 a.m., police said. Witnesses reportedly heard gunshots in the area.

Marlon Duwayne Wright, 39, died on the sidewalk of multiple gunshot wounds, the Tarrant County medical examiner reported.

Police released surveillance images of a man described as a person of interest late Friday, asking the public to help identify and find him. He can be seen walking into a convenience store in a red hat, white tanktop and blue shorts, with a mask hanging off his chin.

Police also released photos of a red Cadillac believed to be connected to the man. The license plate isn’t visible.
