1 person killed, 2 injured in 2-vehicle crash on W I-20 in Arlington, police say

One person was killed and two people sustained minor injuries in a crash involving two vehicles in Arlington on Thursday night, police said.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office will release the name of the victim pending notification of next of kin.

Officers responded to a reported major crash in the 7100 block of West I-20 around 8:15 p.m. Thursday, police said in a news release. They determined a person driving with one other occupant lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the concrete median in the road. A second vehicle was involved in the crash, though police didn’t say how.

The driver of the first vehicle was pronounced dead on the scene, the department said. The passenger was transported to a hospital with injuries that didn’t appear to be life-threatening.

The driver of the second vehicle wasn’t seriously injured, police said.

Westbound I-20 was shut down for a short time on Thursday night as investigators processed the scene.
