18-year-old motorcyclist dies after crashing into pickup truck in Arlington, police say
An 18-year-old was killed Friday afternoon when his motorcycle rammed into a pickup truck turning in front of him in Arlington, police said.
Jordy Lopez Arellano, of Arlington, was identified as the victim by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Investigators believe the motorcycle was traveling at a high rate of speed, police said in a news release.
Officers responded to the crash in the 1900 block of South Cooper Street around 4:40 p.m. Friday. An investigation revealed Arellano was traveling northbound on South Cooper Street when he ran into the back of a white Ford F-250 turning left from the southbound lanes onto Inwood Drive, police said.
Arellano was pronounced dead at the scene, police said.
The driver of the pickup truck didn’t sustain any injuries.
Investigators are reviewing surveillance footage of the crash captured by a nearby business, police said.
