Kennedale motorist killed in Arlington when vehicle crashes into light pole

A Kennedale man was killed Sunday morning in a single-vehicle crash after his car collided with a light pole in Arlington, authorities said.

The victim was identified as Colten Cox, 31, who was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office website on Monday. A ruling on his death is pending an autopsy.

The wreck was reported at about 6 a.m. Sunday in the 5500 block of North Little School Road in Arlington.

Cox was driving southbound on the road when for an unknown reason he lost control of the vehicle, which went over a curb and hit the light pole, Arlington police said.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash.

The fatal crash remains under investigation.
