Man, 29, dies after suffering gunshot wounds in Arlington apartment, police say
A 29-year-old man died early Wednesday morning after he was found inside his Arlington apartment with multiple gunshot wounds, police said.
He was identified as Cedric Dawkins, according to the Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office website on Thursday. The website does not give a hometown for Dawkins. His death was ruled a homicide.
Arlington officers responded to a shooting call in the 2300 block of Streambed Court around 1:10 a.m. Wednesday, police said. They reportedly found the wounded man lying inside his own apartment.
He was transported to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead, police said.
Police said in a news release investigators believe he may have been involved in “high-risk activity.” Police didn’t immediately respond to a question about what this activity might have been.
Investigators are searching for witnesses to the shooting and surveillance video.
Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Investigator Julia Hall at 817-459-5325. People who want to remain anonymous can call Tarrant County Crime Stoppers at 817-469-TIPS, and they may be eligible for a cash reward, police said.
