Motorcyclist dies after striking an armored truck in Arlington

Police in Arlington are investigating a crash that killed a motorcyclist who struck an armored truck on Sunday morning.

The Arlington Police Department reported that officers responded to a major crash around 9:30 a.m. in the 1300 block of North Collins Street involving a motorcycle and an armored vehicle.

Police said the armored vehicle was southbound in the left lane and was preparing to make a left turn. The motorcycle attempted to pass the armored vehicle on the left, striking the truck on the driver’s side.

The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced dead at the hospital.

The driver of the armored car was being treated for injuries at the hospital.

The Tarrant County medical examiner’s office will release the victim's identity pending notificiation of next of kin.
