Grand Prairie police officer, 46, dies of COVID-19 complications, officials say

A Grand Prairie police officer died Monday of COVID-19, the department said.

Officer Andy MacDonald “served our Grand Prairie community since 1999,” the department said. It did not release other information. MacDonald was 46.

Denton Police Department Detective Rodney Mooneyham died on Saturday of COVID-19, according to his department. Mooneyham, 52, began his Denton police career in November 2010.
