Tarrant County reports more than 300 COVID-19 cases for 8th consecutive day

Tarrant County reported 477 new coronavirus cases and one death on Tuesday.

The county has reported more than 300 cases each of the past eight days and 14 of the past 15 days.

The latest COVID-19 death is a Fort Worth man in his 60s who had underlying health conditions, according to officials.

As of Saturday, the seven-day average rate for positive tests was 11% in the county. The positive rate has been between 9 and 11% since Aug. 1. It peaked at 20% on July 7.

Tarrant County has reported a total of 56,159 COVID-19 cases, including 694 deaths and an estimated 47,105 recoveries.
