Tarrant County passes 50,000 COVID cases with biggest daily total in 6 weeks; 4 deaths
Tarrant County surpassed 50,000 coronavirus cases with 488 new cases and four deaths reported on Tuesday.
The latest COVID-19 deaths include four Fort Worth residents — two men in their 50s, and a man and a woman in their 60s.
Two of the residents did not have underlying health conditions, according to officials.
After reporting three consecutive days of fewer than 300 cases, the 488 cases Tuesday are the most new daily cases since 1,436 were reported on Aug. 16, according to a state database. The county reported 587 on Thursday, but 286 of those were unreported cases from at least 30 days prior.
Tarrant County has reported a total of 50,057 COVID-19 cases, including 657 deaths and an estimated 43,636 recoveries.
