Among the latest COVID-19 deaths were two men in their 50s from Dallas and Garland. Others included a Dallas man in his 60s, a Lancaster woman in her 80s who was a resident of a long-term care facility, and a Garland woman in her 80s. At least four of the patients had underlying health conditions.

Dallas County has confirmed 53,831 COVID-19 cases, including 751 deaths. The county has also reported an additional 43 probable cases which brings the probable case count to 2,072, including six probable COVID-related deaths.

“I hope we, as a North Texas community, are finding a more successful way of dealing with #COVID19 until a vaccine can be had,” Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins said in a release and on social media, “but we must not lessen our resolve or go back to putting selfishness over community sacrifice. Staying the course by continuing to wear your mask and avoiding unnecessary dangers is the best way to keep people safe, keep more businesses open and get our children back to school.”
