Coronavirus has killed 72 in Tarrant County younger than 65; 4 deaths reported Friday

Tarrant County reported 343 new coronavirus cases and four more deaths on Friday.

The latest COVID-19 deaths include three Fort Worth residents and an Arlington man in his 60s. The Fort Worth deaths include a man in his 40s, a woman in her 60s, and a man in his 70s.

All had underlying health conditions.

The county has averaged 388 cases a day the past five days. That’s an increase of 129 cases a day from the previous five days.

Tarrant County has confirmed a total of 10,706 COVID-19 cases, including 222 deaths and at least 4,887 recoveries.

The 222 pandemic-related deaths include 126 in Fort Worth and 31 in Arlington.

Of the total cases in the county, 39% are between ages 25 and 44, 30% are between 45-64, and 13% are 65 or older. Thirteen percent are 15 to 24 and 4% are younger than 15.

Of the total deaths, 67% (150 total) were 65 or older, 27% (60) were 45-64, 5% were 25-44 (11) and less than 1 percent (one person) was 15-24, according to the county’s data.
