Big League Dreams closes Mansfield facility after employee tests positive for COVID-19

Big League Dreams, a sports recreation complex with multiple locations, is closing its Mansfield facility after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

An email from the Mansfield Youth Baseball Association notified parents and coaches of the closure on Monday.

Big League Dreams closed the facility on Monday to sanitize contact areas of the park, the email stated. Work is being done to determine the origin and what type of contact this employee may have had with others.

Officials with Big League Dreams did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

The Mansfield Youth Baseball Association does not have any games scheduled at the facility until Thursday.

“By that time we should have more information about their situation there and how it may impact play there,” the statement said.

The Big League Dreams facility in Mansfield and the Big League Dreams League City facility reopened on June 13, according to a post on the Big League Dreams Facebook page dated June 16. The two facilities opened with a 75% capacity limit in stadium club restaurants and implemented and encouraged standard social distancing throughout the facilities, the post said. There were no limitations on spectators.

Recently, several high schools in the Dallas-Fort Worth area have been forced to close segments of their strength and conditioning programs after positive COVID-19 tests.
